Data Storage

The app only saves data locally on the device on which it is installed. The data will not be passed on to the developer or third parties. The following data may be collected by the app and processed and stored locally:

  • Labels: The app allows you to create folders and labels. Labels are data sets linked to a QR code. You can add text and an audio recording to a label. When you scan a known QR code, you will be presented with this information. Speech recognition of the audio recording to display a text preview only happens locally on your device.
  • Unlocked products: When you make in-app purchases via the App Store, the app saves which products were activated to provide you access to the unlocked functions.
  • Settings: You may adapt the app to individual needs. Your settings will be saved so that they are available to you again when you reopen the app.

All the mentioned data is automatically removed from your device when the app is uninstalled. Folders and labels can also be deleted without uninstalling the entire app.

Access to camera and microphone

For some functions, the app requires access to your camera or microphone. The app does not access the camera or the microphone without your permission. The first time you access the respective function, the app asks you for your consent via a dialog. You can revoke or adjust this at any time via the Settings app. You can also access this menu via the settings menu in the app. If you do not give your consent, you can use the app, but not all functions will be available. Below you will find out what the approvals are needed for.

  • Camera: The app uses the camera to enable you to scan QR codes. The footage is not saved persistently.
  • Microphone: The app uses the microphone to enable you to record audio. If you make an audio recording for a label and save the changes, the audio recording is saved permanently. You can delete the recording yourself at any time.

The app contains hyperlinks. If you follow such a link, the respective website will be opened in the browser of your device. The privacy policies of the respective webpages do apply.

Support

You can contact the app’s support via email or WhatsApp. The legal basis for data processing regarding support requests is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b) GDPR, provided an existing contractual relationship is involved or the communication is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures. Otherwise, the legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f) GDPR, with the legitimate interest lying in the processing and answering of your support request.

Contact via Email

If you send inquiries to the app’s support via email, the data associated with this contact will be stored for the purpose of answering your request until the matter is finally resolved; the data will subsequently be deleted, unless statutory retention obligations prevent such deletion.

Contact via WhatsApp

You can also contact the app’s support via the instant messaging service WhatsApp. WhatsApp is a service provided by WhatsApp Ireland Limited, 4 Grand Canal Square, Grand Canal Harbour, Dublin 2, Ireland. Your inquiry is processed using the WhatsApp Business app. Further information regarding data processing by WhatsApp can be found in the WhatsApp Privacy Policy at https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/#privacy-policy or the WhatsApp Business App Privacy Policy at https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/business-app-privacy-policy. Once your inquiry has been fully resolved, the chat history in the WhatsApp Business account will be deleted, provided there are no statutory retention obligations preventing such deletion.
